Plants Make Life Better

Bhartiya Gramin Vikas Sansthan (BGVS) was founded on August 8, 2010, driven by the founders' strong desire to bring change to society and improve the lives of the poorest. Without initial corporate funding, BGVS relied on the conviction and dedication of its team, establishing strong community relationships and effective systems. Within two years, BGVS achieved a healthy turnover by fostering partnerships with government departments, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

In 2011, BGVS organized a large farmers' gathering in Nawalgarh, Rajasthan, identifying agriculture as a primary concern. In response, BGVS formed 25 Self-Help Groups and focused on projects to enhance agricultural productivity and improve health, hygiene, and environmental management in Jhunjhunu district. Early initiatives included training in vermicompost production, horticulture, and crop development.

BGVS aims to expand across all districts of Rajasthan by the end of the financial year 2022-23, targeting a sustainable growth. The organization now offers diverse services, including agriculture and environment management, community development, entrepreneurship, and financial management. BGVS has also pioneered efforts in organic farming and certifications, sustainable agriculture, and carbon farming.

BGVS is authorized by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of PGS-India as a Regional Council to oversee organic certification decisions under the PGS-India program, emphasizing organic and sustainable agriculture.
